Welcome to Baba Beag on the 16th October 2009.

Baba Beag was born out of two parents working with little or no time to do anything other than play catch up at weekends. Not only that, it was the general lack of choice beyond the 'high street' when it came to buying baby clothes, baby gifts or accessories that was frustrating. So we started looking into it and found that if you looked further afield there was choice. So the question was how best to go about providing that choice. And thus, baba beag was brought into the world!

Going the online route offers people the choice of shopping whilst at home or at lunch (or whilst doing a spot of surfing when you're not meant to be). It cuts out the hassle of going into town and paying for parking. We use a secure payment provider, Realex, so nobody sees your details. The delivery is handled by a national courier service, so it is secure and traceable.

The idea itself is straightforward - we want to provide an online children's shop that stocks both cool and funky as well as functional clothes, gifts, accessories and anything else that makes sense. We started out by trying to find products that were not found in every main street across the country. We've made a start at that - with great lines like UJU London, Toby Tiger, Pooki and Co.,Turquaz PJs, Organics for Kids and Bonnie Baby. We will be looking to find new Irish and International lines that we think people will like and add them to the site as we go. We'd be delighted to hear what people think. We would like to know what they think works and what does not.
